New Delhi: Copper prices on Monday rose 1.18 per cent to Rs865.35 per kilogram in the futures market on the back of higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for delivery in May traded higher Rs 10.05 or 1.18 per cent at Rs865.35 per kg in a business turnover of 6,714 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to the raising of bets by participants.
Aluminium futures fall on low demand
Aluminium prices on Monday declined 0.26 per cent to Rs232.70 per kilogram in the futures market as participants trimmed their positions on a weak trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in May fell 60 paise or 0.26 per cent to Rs232.70 per kg in 4,149 lots.
